At the end of this month, fans of the eclectic UK rock/pop group XTC are in for a real treat - the release of a new box set of demos and rare B-sides, entitled "Coat of Many Cupboards". XTC is a group that, for what it has always lacked in international chart success, it makes up for in the intense devotion and persistence of its core of fans, particularly online. If you're a completist like myself (all the albums, including remastered versions, various singles, all the books), a band like XTC can cost you a lot of time and money, but ultimately it's worth it. I challenge any bloggers out there to offer up any criticism about the songwriting qualities of Andy Partridge and Colin Moulding, the two surviving members of the band. There isn't - and it is not a cliche to say this - really anyone out there to match them.
